Nevian is a long way away from Rennes le Chateau but is close to a place called Perillos. Perillos was the former home of the Hautpoul family. Perillos is currently an abandoned village and the French government has declared it uninhabitable.
Sauniere made a paper mache model of the area around Perrilos and the great Italian astronomer and mapmaker Cassini lived there for two years. Perillos has three churches all aligned North/South. Perillos has a rock called 'The Seat of Death'. How's your Arthurian legends? Siege Perilous?
Gellis was later murdered. His murderer, who clearly knew him as there was no sign of a break in and they had been sat at the table for some time before this unknown assailant got up and beat Gellis to death, took no money and was never caught.
Carriere was the personal doctor of Henri Boudet cure of Rennes les Bains. An interesting character in himself.
Lastly _Smith_ will come up with the cockamaimy story that Secret is actually a shortened version of Secretaire. Not the first time the detractors have altered facts to suit their story.
Well there is plenty of room to put in the full word but Cros is the Bishop of Carcassonne's secretary anyway. So why would Sauniere after putting in Cros'name in the first place then put in his own diary for his personal use a reminder that Cros was a secretary? Why did Sauniere feel the need to remind himself that the man he had just seen and named is the secretary and then shorten it? No, there is only one explanation here, Sauniere was putting in the word SECRET into his own diary.
These are the facts of the case and they are undisputed. Apart from those with an agenda who 'Protest too much methinks'.
We have proof that Sauniere made visits to Lyon on several occasions.
Readers are reminded that _Smith's_ fact's all eminate from one person who has released false documents in the past.
Here is a statement from Gino Sandri another player in this mystery:
